Baby

Recently my sweet friend Jane asked me to provide foster care for her "Baby". How could I refuse?
Baby arrived shortly thereafter when the Steinway truck pulled into the driveway and two strong-armed caregivers painstakingly maneuvered her up the front porch steps. Affectionately referred to by her tuner as "a sweet little M", Baby -- a Steinway model "M" baby grand piano -- now adds joy to my life and class to my living room. Can you believe it? My living room!
I've been tickling the ivories since about the age of seven or so and have always dreamed that one day -- one day -- I'd have my very own Steinway. Well, Baby's not actually mine, but I treat her as if she were. She gets daily attention, lots of love, and even her own portrait!
I am truly blessed and pray that you, too, may one day experience your dream come true. Thank you, Jane!

Spring Morning

I love Spring. Especially this year after a long, drawn-out winter. And I love tulips! Both came together last week with a breeze blowing in the window, hands on the wheel, and my thoughts focused on the day ahead. I turned the corner and (gasp!) there they were -- hundreds of them in all shades of pink, coral, and yellow -- covered in dew and bathed in that fuzzy, hazy light that, to me, signifies Spring.
Out came my camera! Forgotten was the business obligation that had brought me out early that morning and the "to do" list that had occupied my thoughts just moments before. Creative instinct took over as I clicked away to capture the moment.
"Spring Morning" is my interpretation of that experience.
