What is a giclée print?

The French word giclée (pronounced "zhee-CLAY") is a feminine noun that means a spray or spurt of liquid.  A giclée print is an individually produced, high-resolution, high-fidelity, high-tech print reproduction. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper.  Camille's giclée prints are produced on high-quality, acid-free fine art paper and are individually hand-signed.

Are custom-sized giclée prints available?

Yes. Custom-sized prints are priced similarly to the sizes offered on this site.  Please contact Camille if you'd like a price quote on a customized print.

Why do your paintings look more like acrylics than watercolor?

Camille uses a watercolor technique called "glazing" which uses multiple thin layers of transparent pigment applied over dry existing washes.  The build up allows all the lower levels of color to be viewed through the top layers resulting in strong, vivid images.  Click here to see the process in detail.

Do you give watercolor lessons?

Camille loves to teach and speak publicly as opportunities arise. She has presented numerous watercolor workshops and painting demonstrations to local art clubs, as well as church and civic organizations. She also enjoys private and small group instruction.  Click here to learn more.

How do you develop a painting and what's your inspiration?

Each of Camille’s paintings is an interpretive reflection of her personal thoughts, experiences, and unique perspective. Inspiration strikes in the most unlikely places at times, but Camille strives never to let an inspirational moment pass unnoticed. Camille recently documented the process when inspiration struck unexpectedly at the DFW airport. Click here to read more.

Do you do commissioned painting? Can you paint from my photograph?

Capturing someone else’s experience, memory or vision in watercolor is always a joy for Camille. Personal photographs, along with a verbal description, are a great starting place for conceptualizing the painting you’d like Camille to create. Copyrighted photographs, however, cannot be reproduced. Click here to learn more.

What does a commissioned painting cost?

Commissioned paintings are priced according to size and subject matter. Camille will be happy to discuss your project and give you a quote. Commissioned pet portraits begin at $200.00 for a 5” x 7”. Contact Camille to discuss your project details.

What is "Keep Coloring! Love God" all about?

Camille’s personal journey has taken her through many faith-altering experiences. “Keep Coloring! Love, God” is the title of a monologue presentation that chronicles her quest to find joy in the midst of spinal injury pain and God’s ultimate healing of her heart, body, and soul. “Keep Coloring!
